HNRC MEETING NOTICE

HNRC COMMITTEE MEETING ON AUGUST 24. The House Natural Resources Committee (HRNC) has posted a notice of its next meeting, which will be held on August 24 in Weslaco. The committee will hear invited testimony on the following interim charges: TWDB Oversight; Implementation and Rulemaking of SB 1169; Regional Water Planning Process; and Innovative Water Supply Strategies. AGENCY UPDATES

WATER LOSS AUDIT VALIDATIONS GUIDE. TWDB has developed the Third-Party Water Loss Audit Validations in Texas guide and a report template to support third-party water loss audit validations. The guide is intended to help utilities and validators ensure accurate and consistent validation of water loss audits in accordance with TWDB rules and statute and outlines validation requirements, certification expectations, reporting components, and available resources. NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS FOR FLOOD RESILIENCE GUIDANCE MANUAL. TWDB is accepting comments through July 24 on the draft Nature-Based Solutions for Flood Resilience in Texas Guidance Manual, which will support the planning and implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in Texas communities to mitigate flood risk. The manual is available on the TWDB website. Submit comments here 

WATER SUPPLY AND INFRASTRUCTURE GRANTS APPLICATIONS DEADLINE. The deadline to apply for the Water Supply and Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) is Thursday, July 30The WSIG opportunity provides 100 percent grant funding for eligible water supply and infrastructure projects.           TWA members provide water and wastewater services to a vast majority of the state and include river authorities, cities, regional and local water districts, drainage and flood districts, irrigation districts, groundwater conservation districts, entities that support the Texas water industry, and various water users, owners, and interests.
