About the TWA Board

The TWA Board of Directors consists of 79 individuals from TWA member organizations and reflects the diversity of our membership and the Texas water community. The Board is composed of representatives from the presidential tree, the Association’s nine panels, TWA Risk Management Fund (RMF) and presidential appointees, and active past presidents.

The Board helps guide the Association’s strategic direction, programs, and governance, while supporting TWA’s vision of sound water policy for Texas. The TWA Board of Directors meets four times per year in conjunction with TWA conferences and other Association meetings.

Voting Board of Directors
  • Officers: Presidential tree, including the president, president-elect, and immediate past president, and treasurer.
  • Panels: Seven members from each of TWA's nine panels, serving staggered three-year terms.
  • Appointees: Two appointees from the TWA Risk Management Fund (RMF) and six presidential appointees (two each appointed by the presidential tree members, serving concurrent terms).
  • Past Presidents: TWA past presidents who are current, dues-paying members of the Association.
TWA's Leadership
  • Presidential Tree: Serving on TWA's Presidential Tree is a three-year commitment, with one year each as president-elect, president, and immediate past president. Our incoming president-elect is selected by the Board in December for a term to begin the following June 1st.
  • Panels: During the TWA Annual Convention in March, each panel elects new members, as terms expire, to serve on the Board. Each panel appoints a chair and vice chair, who also serve on the Executive Committee.
  • Executive Committee: The Executive Committee is composed of the presidential tree, the chair and vice chair of each panel, RMF appointees, and the treasurer, totaling 24 members. Executive Committee members are indicated in bold.
  • Committees: Much of the Association's legislative and policy work happens through a robust committee framework. While not part of the Board, many committee members participate in Board functions and support the Association's vision and strategic goals. Learn more about TWA committees here.
