VOTE FOR PROPOSITION 4

Texas' population is projected to grow by 70 percent in the next 50 years, but our water supply won't be enough to support that growth. The state faces more than $200 billion in water, wastewater, and flood infrastructure needs.

If passed by Texas voters, Proposition 4 (Prop 4) would dedicate up to $1 billion of existing state sales and use tax revenue each year to the Texas Water Fund for the next 20 years—without increasing taxes or fees.

Prop 4 would ...

  • Increase the state's water supply to ensure all communities have enough water, especially during drought.
  • Help fund needed repairs and replacement of aging and leaking water pipes.
  • Improve the safety and reliability of our water systems, ensuring all communities have access to clean water.

Election Dates

Prop 4 is on the ballot and would authorize the creation of a dedicated fund for water projects—without raising taxes. Early voting begins October 20.

  • Early Voting – October 20–31
  • Election Day – November 4
